Vision is defined as, “the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom.” Vision is a key component in moving you, your family, your business, or your endeavors from where they are currently to where you believe they should be in the future. In a sense, vision is the end game. Ask yourself, “Where do I see my [fill in the blank] in the next [set period of time]”. So there it is, from where you are to where you’re headed… consider that and let’s discuss the pursuit of vision.
· It all starts with a plan…
o “A goal without a plan is just a wish,” Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The plan is key, because many are stuck on the dream stage, holding huge dreams inside their heads and lacking the ability to make a move toward said dream. In this stage it is important to keep a notepad/voice memo recorder near you at all times. This is the stage where ideas will flow with ease. However, with each idea comes a task, and with each task comes a charge to transform the dream into a mission. Stop dreaming and start doing!
· What are you willing to give up?
o Time on the couch? Time watching hilarious youtube videos? What are you willing to sacrifice for the greater good as it pertains to chasing your next? The opportunity to create an amazing future lies before us all, however, unless we are willing to give up somethings that may be inadvertently hindering our growth and progress, that window of opportunity will close. That vision that keeps you awake at night… That dream that seems as if it’s so close… How bad do you want it?
· Now…EXECUTE
o After you have constructed a plan. Now that you have established that it’s no longer business as usual…it’s time to execute. Build a to do list and prioritize it, listing the most important measures from top to bottom and create a strategic plan to attack. Remember, open doors are only beneficial to those who are willing AND ready to walk through them!
The time is NOW. No more delay, no more excuses, no more hesitation. When it’s all said and done, you could be the next big thing! Get the vision out of your head and on to some paper! Draw out a plan, discern what needs to be given up, and execute… the time is now!
